In 1948, José de Oliveira Moura e Costa laid the foundation for our company, crafting bedroom slippers by hand in his parents’ home. What began as a small-scale endeavor quickly grew, and by the early 1960s, we were producing elegant “toilette shoes” in a dedicated factory, reaching customers across Portugal, the archipelagos, and former Portuguese colonies.

By the 1970s, our reputation for quality and craftsmanship had expanded into European and North American markets. A decade later, we launched the PONTUAL brand, giving a distinct identity to our expertise in women’s comfort footwear.

Today, we specialize in sneakers, footbed sandals, and casual comfort footwear, utilizing advanced cement lasting, Strobel, and California construction techniques to ensure flexibility, durability, and exceptional comfort. Our production process is designed for efficiency and adaptability, featuring:

• Small production batches to accommodate flexibility and customization
• Fast production turnover, allowing us to quickly respond to market trends

Operating from a state-of-the-art 6,000m² facility, our dedicated team of 60 skilled professionals produces 600 pairs per day, supplying renowned comfort footwear brands worldwide.
